The lustre of somptuous foods accompany traditional drinks
With the growing shift in taste and preferences, Dhaka has become a host to many new restaurants in recent times. The latest to open its doors to the food lovers is The Great Kabab Factory. As the name implies it is very much an Indian chain, which has chosen Dhaka as it's newest destination. It opened only a month back and is all set to welcome the guests.
The food is mainly North Indian, with Kababs as the main attraction. The menu is rich with different types of kababs, made with chicken and mutton. There are both options of both veg and non-veg. Theirs is a buffet but with a different style. The food is being continuously served on the table to the guests. The meal starts with a welcome drink and a platter of seasonal fruits. This is followed by the meal itself, which is a never ending flow of different types of kababs, coupled with a variety of naans and parathas. The dinner buffet has an array of kababs, that is served with naans and different types of biryanis. There are also daal, vegetable curry, non-veg curry_ which is part of this buffet. The desserts too are a combination of a few tasty traditional Indian sweets_ Lau ka Halwa, Jilabee with Rabri, Gulabjamun, Gajar ki Halwa and to top these all-Paan Kulfi, which is, they are possibly the first ones to serve here.
The lunch buffet is also almost the same, except there are fewer varieties. chaat, salad and raita_ these are the basic accompaniments in any Indian meal. This place is no exception. Throughout the meal, these are served intermittently. Cool mocktails like Santra Mantra, Kala Khatta, (and of course the regular ones), adds a twist to the meal.
It is open for lunch and dinner, maintaining regular business hours. As one steps into this place, one is greeted with a touch of India. The décor is done up with statement artefacts, which are authentic and very ethnic. The restaurant can accommodate 100-plus guests in it's sprawling dining hall. Although there are no private dining rooms, there are secluded corners, which is well-suited for the purpose. Done in bold shades of beige and blue, coupled with sparkling crockeries and cutleries and of course the entire getup_ all these add a regal touch to the place.
Completing their journey in 26 other destinations, most of which are in India, The Great Kabab Factory has travelled all the way to Bangladesh to offer their sumptuous food to the food lovers here. Their first outlet is in Jamuna Future Park. The second one is in Gulshan-2, opposite LabAid and next to Lavender, the superstore. Those who are avid kabab lovers, and are ready to savour and relish a meal, rich in taste and flavour, The Great Kabab Factory is just the place for them. Also to try out a different style of buffet with an array of North Indian specialities_ it is the place.
