A week-long Turkish Food Festival, themed as Turkish Flavours, was held at the Westin Dhaka, from April 5 to April 12. A range of Turkish delicacies were offered during the Festival. The Festival was formally inaugurated by Devrim Ozturk, Ambassador of Turkey in Dhaka. Guest Chefs Yalcin Ogouz Aydin and Ercan Egi from Istanbul Marriott Hotel Sisili were also present during the festive inaugural. The press meet was also attended by the top management of the hotel. The Food Festival was a dinner-only event, which was held at the Seasonal Tastes, The Westin's buffet restaurant. The menu was sumptuous spread of delicious Turkish food, rich with authentic tastes and flavors. For appetizers, there were Humus, Falafel, Mutabel, stuffed Tomato, Muhammara, etc. The main courses included Chicken, Mutton, Stew, Lamb Shank, Chicken Picata, Poached Fish, Fog Fish, coupled with a staple like Cinnamon Rice. A Turkish meal is incomplete without desserts like Baklava a fine pastry made of flour, sugar syrup and loads of butter. This crunchy, yet batter pastry is a must for the sweet lovers. The restaurant was all decked up in typical Turkish décor. There were lamps and canopies_ all bright and colorful! These added a touch of authentic Turkish style to the festival and gave the feel of being somewhere there! The food tasting was held on the eve of the festival. The guest chefs prepared the Turkish treats for the guest to savour. The dinner-only buffet had special offers for selective customers of a number of top private banks of the country.A week-long Turkish Food Festival, themed as Turkish Flavours, was held at the Westin Dhaka, from April 5 to April 12.
