: A beach cleaning activity was conducted at Parki Beach, by members of Radisson Blu Bay View, under the environmental concern of the Carlson Rezidor Hotels Group Corporate and Social Responsibility initiatives on May 8.
"This activity was an effort to spread awareness about the detrimental environmental hazards and the affect that garbage left on beaches and natural beauty spots by people, affect both the environment and marine life," said Robin Edwards, General Manager, Radisson Blu Bay View.
As a company, Carlson Rezidor are strongly committed to upholding their corporate values of CSR, and we at hotel level are very proud to be able to be a small part of that global initiative, Edwards reiterated.
The enthusiasm of our team of volunteers was inspiring, which comprised of all levels of Associates in the Hotel, including management and owning company participants.
Approximately 400 kgs. of garbage was removed, bagged and disposed of properly from this beauty spot, used by thousands of locals on weekends and holidays.
The team volunteers returned from the beach with tired bodies but energised minds, knowing they were a part of a project that was worthwhile, and benefited the local community.
A picnic lunch was arranged by the hotel for all participants, and of course all litter and waste from the picnic was taken away by the team as well.
"Wherever we go, we like to permeate our internal initiative of 'Take only memories and leave only footprints,'" said Edwards.
