: Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, was voted "World’s Leading Airline – Economy Class" at this year's World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony.
Since commencing operations in 1993, Oman Air has played a major role in transforming into a major traffic hub and serving as a catalyst for commercial, industrial and tourism activities.
Oman Air’s fleet consists of modern and fuel-efficient aircraft with aesthetically-designed interiors. This was acknowledged last year, when the airline was also voted "Middle East’s Leading Airline – Business Class" and "Middle East’s Leading Airline – Economy Class" at the World Travel Awards.

Oman Air stands tall with a list of achievements to its credit. It is the first airline in the Gulf to introduce the brand new Boeing NG 737 aircraft series. Its safety record is a matter of pride. It has excellent on-time performance, OTP exceeding 95 per cent, and is striving to better its track record.
The national flag carrier is in the midst of a major three-year expansion programme, which will take the total number of the -based carrier to around 50 aircraft by 2018, across its fleet of Boeing B737-900s, Airbus A330s and Boeing B787 Dreamliners.
