Dhaka: Private carrier Regent Airways has cancelled all of its flights until further notice in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Regent used to operate on five international routes - Qatar, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and India as well as on one domestic route - Cox's Bazar.

Passengers who have already purchased tickets will be refunded or, if they so choose, will be able to use their tickets when the airline resumes service, the airline said in a statement.

The move follows the decision of Qatar, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and India suspending their air connectivity with Bangladesh and several other countries to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Due to the sharp decline of passengers, Regent also suspended its flights to the domestic route Cox's Bazar, the airline added.

The airline will monitor the situation and resume its services as soon as the countries lift their travel ban when flying is safe again, said Imran Asif, CEO, Regent Airways.
