Phyathai Hospitals strengthen Bangladesh outreach as patient numbers rise

Dhaka
: Thailand's Phyathai 2 Hospital and Phyathai Phaholyothin Hospital are
strengthening their presence in Bangladesh as the country emerges as one of
their fastest-growing international patient markets, with Bangladeshi patient
numbers increasing by around 10 percent annually.
In
an interview with The Bangladesh Monitor, Sorawong Siribunpan, International
Marketing Director of the two hospitals, said the group expects to treat more
than 3,000 Bangladeshi patients this year, reflecting growing confidence in
Thailand's healthcare system and the hospitals' services.
He
described Bangladesh as a strategic market and said the group is committed to
expanding partnerships and improving services for Bangladeshi patients.
Quality
care driving demand
Sorawong said Bangladeshi patients are choosing the hospitals for their combination of advanced medical care, experienced specialists, competitive pricing, and personalized patient support.
Sorawong Siribunpan
Orthopedic
care remains the leading specialty for Bangladeshi patients, particularly joint
replacement, spine surgery, sports injury treatment, and complex orthopedic
procedures. These services are backed by multidisciplinary teams and
comprehensive rehabilitation programs.
End-to-end
patient support
The
hospital group offers comprehensive assistance before, during, and after
treatment. Patients receive free pre-consultation support, medical record
reviews, specialist coordination, appointment scheduling, visa invitation
assistance, and Bengali-speaking coordinators to guide them throughout the
treatment process.
After returning home, patients continue receiving follow-up care through telemedicine consultations, online communication, and coordination for future appointments whenever necessary.

To
make overseas treatment more accessible, the hospitals also provide transparent
pricing, value-based treatment programs, and telemedicine services that allow
patients to consult specialists before traveling.
Bangladesh
remains strategic focus
Sorawong
acknowledged that stricter visa requirements have become one of the biggest
challenges for Bangladeshi patients seeking treatment overseas. To help ease
the process, the hospitals assist patients with documentation and visa-related
guidance.
Looking
ahead, he said the group is exploring new partnerships across Bangladesh,
particularly in Chittagong, to improve access to information and strengthen
local patient support.
Focus
on collaboration
Commenting
on Bangladesh's healthcare sector, Sorawong said the country has made
significant progress in recent years and emphasized that Phyathai views local
healthcare providers as partners rather than competitors.
He
said the hospitals are interested in expanding collaboration through medical
education, professional exchange, knowledge sharing, and patient referral
networks.
Sorawong
also highlighted Phyathai 2 Hospital's recognition as Medical Tourism Hospital
of the Year - Thailand at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, saying the award
reflects the hospital's continued commitment to international patient care and
reinforces Thailand's position as one of Asia's leading medical tourism
destinations.
