Emirates plans daily flights to Berlin, Stuttgart
Dubai : Emirates has announced plans to launch daily flights to Berlin and Stuttgart, subject to approval from the German Federal Ministry of Transport, with the airline set to invest more than EUR 100 million annually in operational expenses, staffing, airport charges, fuel, and related services. The proposed services aim to strengthen long-haul connectivity for two of Germany's major economic centers. Berlin currently has limited long-haul air links, with over 85 percent of its international connectivity focused within Europe, according to OAG schedule data. Stuttgart also remains underserved in long-haul aviation services despite strong demand from industries and global trading partners. A previous study by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) estimated that daily Emirates services to Berlin and Stuttgart could generate nearly 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. Emirates currently carried 2.36 million passengers to and from Germany in 2025, with 60 percent travelling beyond Dubai to destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Australasia. At present, Berlin and Stuttgart are connected to Dubai only through seasonal narrow-body operations. Emirates said its proposed Boeing 777 services would significantly enhance passenger comfort, connectivity, and cargo capacity for both cities.
