Thousands flock to IT & AI Job Fair in Dhaka

Dhaka: Thousands of aspiring and experienced technology professionals flocked to the capital on June 24 as Bangladesh's leading job portal, BDJobs, hosted one of the country's largest IT and AI-focused job fairs.
Held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium, the day-long IT & AI Job Fair brought together nearly 10,000 IT graduates and professionals seeking career opportunities in the rapidly evolving technology sector, read a press release. The event ran from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Around 100 leading local and international technology companies participated in the fair with plans to recruit approximately 2,000 employees across various positions. Job seekers crowded company booths throughout the day, with particularly strong interest in stalls operated by Fiber@Home, BRACNet, Augmedix, Quantigo AI, and Rise Up Labs.
Organizers said the entire application process was conducted digitally. Applicants submitted their applications by scanning QR codes linked to specific job openings, while no printed CVs were accepted.
A key attraction of the event was the BDJobs AI Conference, which featured two seminars focusing on emerging trends in artificial intelligence. The sessions covered Agentic Software Development and AI Content Methods, drawing significant interest from students and professionals eager to understand the technology's growing impact on the workplace.
The fair also featured a mock interview program designed to help recent graduates prepare for the job market. More than 300 IT graduates participated in the sessions, where experienced industry professionals conducted interviews and provided career guidance and feedback.
BDJobs Founder and Chief Executive Officer Fahim Mashroor chaired the opening ceremony. Addressing participants, he said the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence could threaten some traditional IT jobs, but professionals who quickly adapt to AI technologies and upgrade their skills would remain competitive in the changing employment landscape.
He also offered career advice to IT graduates, encouraging them to continuously develop relevant skills to meet the evolving demands of the technology industry.
