Bangladesh showcases 32 companies at Korea Import Expo 2026

Dhaka: Bangladesh showcased its export potential through 32 companies at the three-day Korea Import Expo 2026 in Seoul, with business leaders holding more than 15 business-to-business (B2B) meetings to expand trade and investment with South Korea.
The exhibition, held at COEX Hall B from June 23 to 25, was organized by the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), with Bangladesh's participation coordinated by the Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul, read a press release.
The expo was jointly inaugurated by KOIMA Chairman YoungMi Youn and Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Toufiq Islam Shatil, alongside ambassadors from several countries and other dignitaries.
The Bangladesh Pavilion, jointly inaugurated by Ambassador Shatil and KBCCI President Shahab Uddin Khan, drew significant attention from international buyers and visitors under the theme, "Invest in Bangladesh: Advancing Trade and Investment Through Strong Bilateral Relations."
The exhibition featured around 200 booths representing companies from different countries, displaying products ranging from food and beverages, cosmetics, and consumer goods to electronics, industrial materials, and innovative technologies.
Bangladesh was represented by a 41-member business delegation led by Shahab Uddin Khan. During the three-day event, the delegation held more than 15 B2B meetings with Korean and international buyers to explore new business opportunities.
The 32 participating Bangladeshi companies showcased products from a wide range of sectors, including readymade garments, textiles and garment accessories, leather goods and footwear, jute and biodegradable products, handicrafts, agro and processed food, information technology, AI-driven software solutions, and logistics services. The Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) also had a strong presence at the fair.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, KBCCI leaders met KOIMA Chairman YoungMi Youn to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing import-export collaboration, building on a memorandum of understanding signed between KBCCI and KOIMA in September 2024.
At a reception hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul on June 26, Ambassador Toufiq Islam Shatil pledged the embassy's full support to Bangladeshi businesses seeking to expand trade and investment with South Korea.
The reception was attended by former South Korean ambassadors to Bangladesh Lee Yun Young and Park Young Sik, as well as David Kim, Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh in Incheon, among other guests.
