Jhinuk Restaurant elevates beachfront dining in Cox's Bazar

Dhaka
: In Kolatoli, where Cox's Bazar's coastline meets a steady stream of tourists
and food seekers, Jhinuk Restaurant has carved out a space that leans heavily
on what many visitors come for as much as the beach itself - fresh food, a
relaxed setting, and an uninterrupted view of the sea.
Perched
in one of the busiest tourist stretches of the city, the restaurant offers a
seating capacity of around 250, making it suitable for families, tour groups,
and casual walk-in diners. However, beyond size, it is the open, breezy
atmosphere overlooking the Bay of Bengal that defines the experience.
Speaking to The Bangladesh Monitor, proprietor Md Akkas Uddin said, the idea behind Jhinuk Restaurant was to create a space where food and environment complement each other. He emphasized hygiene standards and a diverse menu as central to the restaurant's identity, alongside its beachfront positioning.

The
menu reflects both local culinary tradition and tourist-friendly variety.
Bangla staples remain at the core, with dishes such as beef mezbani, kala
bhuna, ilish paturi, loitta fry, dal, and an array of bhortas drawing steady
attention from domestic visitors. Seafood, unsurprisingly, is a major
highlight, with offerings like dab chingri and coral paturi - grilled and
wrapped in banana leaf - bringing coastal flavors to the table in traditional
style.
For
those looking beyond local cuisine, Jhinuk also offers continental, Thai, and
Chinese dishes, a nod to the increasingly diverse palate of Cox's Bazar's
tourist crowd. This blend allows the restaurant to cater to both food
adventurers and those seeking familiar international flavors.
What
sets the experience apart, however, is less about the menu alone and more about
the setting. Meals are served with a clear view of the sea, and during quieter
hours, the sound of waves becomes part of the dining atmosphere. It is this
combination of location and casual comfort that gives the restaurant its
appeal, particularly for travelers looking to unwind after a day on the beach.
