dnata secures seven-year ground handling license at Schiphol

Dhaka: Global air and travel services provider dnata has been re-awarded a ground handling license at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), reinforcing its position at one of Europe's key aviation hubs.
The award follows a competitive public tender by the airport operator and allows dnata to continue offering ground handling services at AMS for the next seven years, as Schiphol enters the next phase of its ground handling operations.
dnata has served airline customers in Amsterdam for more than a decade, providing passenger, baggage, ramp, and cargo services to a diverse portfolio of major international carriers and specialist operators.
The company currently supports more than 20 passenger and cargo airlines at Schiphol, with a team of over 1,200 employees handling approximately 500,000 tonnes of cargo and around 16,000 flights annually.
Thiemo van Spellen, Managing Director of dnata Netherlands, said the award reflects the trust placed in the company's people, operational capabilities, and commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and consistent services for airlines and passengers.
Describing Schiphol as a critical hub in European aviation, Thiemo added that the company looks forward to continuing close collaboration with the airport, airline customers, employees, unions, and industry partners as it enters its next phase.
With the seven-year license secured, dnata said it is positioned to build on its existing operations at Schiphol, deepen customer partnerships, and pursue new growth opportunities, with its local team working closely with Schiphol and airline partners through the transition.
The renewed mandate also underscores dnata's broader commitment to the Netherlands, where it continues investing in people, infrastructure, and operational capabilities, including dnata Cargo City Amsterdam, one of the largest facilities of its kind, with an annual capacity of 600,000 tonnes and representing a EUR 70 million investment.
The air and travel services provider said Amsterdam remains a key station in its European network, where the company combines local expertise with the scale, systems, and standards of a global aviation services provider across passenger, ramp, and cargo operations.
Globally, dnata provides ground handling, cargo, travel, catering, and retail services in 37 countries across six continents. In the financial year 2025-26, its teams handled 888,793 aircraft turns and moved 3.2 million tonnes of cargo.
